Audrey Hepburn’s role as call girl Holly Golightly in the 1961 film, ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, has spawned countless recreations of the iconic look from the opening scene. The little black dress and pearl necklace with a bouffant hairstyle will be forever tied to Hepburn.
The black dress was designed by Hubert de Givenchy who dressed the actress in real life and on film. Paired with oversized glasses, long gloves and a pearl necklace; it became known as the most iconic little black dress of all time. What exactly makes the look so timeless? Its sheath shape translates across decades and can be accessorized in just about every way.

But of course, there was more style than that little black Givenchy dress. Hubert de Givenchy also designed another black dress, but shorter in cloqué silk with a flared skirt. The look is paired with a wide-brimmed hat in black with a white ribbon, large sunglasses and long black gloves.
During the course of the film, you can also see her wearing a beige trench coat as well as a pink cocktail dress with a matching coat.
