May is art month for some, with the arrival of Art Basel as of last year, but for the growing French population in Hong Kong it is also Le French May; an exciting month of events and activities organized by the Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau.

Amanda Strang, along with Tony Leung, Carina Lau, Johnnie To, and Karena Lam are this years celebrity ambassadors, having appeared in the promotional trailer.

Le French May began in 1993, since then it has attracted crowds of people who enjoy the performances, exhibitions, films and gastronomical activities put on by the French Consul General. This year is especially prominent, as it marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and France. From May 2 until June 28, Le French May will showcase the influences and exchanges between the French and Chinese cultures.

An opening ceremony took place on February 26 at Felix, The Peninsula Hong Kong, where esteemed guests, including celebrity ambassador Amanda Strang, watched the promotional trailer and select programmes. The event was followed by an exclusive cocktail party.
