For some collectors and enthusiasts, there is only one acceptable look for an A. Lange & Söhne watch: the revered and much-copied Lange 1. In honor of the 15th anniversary of the Lange 1, which the brand celebrated last month, A. Lange & Sohne is releasing new versions of all the milestone watches in this collection, including the Lange 1 and the Lange 1 Time Zone which we feature here.

A. Lange & Sohne’s tribute to the original Time Zone sees a couple of notable changes. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who reset the time zone for his country, thus disqualifying Caracas from being a reference on world timers, necessitated the first change. Santiago de Chile takes its place on the dial. The second change is cosmetic, as this pink gold version comes with a grey dial.

As for the Lange 1 itself, it remains totally unchanged, until the sun sets. Christened the Night Owl, the Lange 1 now has Super-Luminova on its hands. Only time will tell what hardcore A. Lange & Sohne fans will think of this. In any case, happy birthday A. Lange & Sohne and congratulations on a truly great collection.
